Power not sufficient in Arduino uno usb serial debug

When I connect my Arduino uno via usb serial debug My usb could not provide sufficient power to Arduino and the sensors. Can I use both usb and power jack at the same time to serial debug and power the Arduino respectively.
What will happen if they both are connected at the same time. Will it fry my board.

Unfortunately not!
I say that because the Uno is a really horrible choice of board for an IoT project…
