Wifi Shield Shorting when sending signal

Hello,

I am having trouble with sending a signal to my wifi shield. I am using BLYNK WRITE and a virtual pin to turn on an IR LED (pin 13). I can connect to the server fine initially but when I try to turn on the LED my wifi shield shuts off. I can also connect fine to the LED when I just set it to HIGH rather than using Blynk to turn it on. Any suggestions?

PS: If this is purely a wifi shield problem and not a Blynk problem, I apologize. I am new to this and am not sure which it is

You should know your hardware better:

Arduino communicates with both the Wifi shield’s processor and SD card using the SPI bus (through the ICSP header). This is on digital pins 11, 12, and 13 on the Uno

  1. You can’t use these pins
  2. You don’t need to use Virtual Pins in order to trigger physical pins. No code needed, just select a digital pin in the PIN picker
