Using a 1sheeld to connect to Blynk servers

HI, I am very new to Electronics scene. I am making a Bluetooth controlled robot. I originally had the idea to use the 1sheeld shield to control the robot. I now have the robot being controlled by the 1sheeld. I have begun ot encounter limitation with the 1sheeld. I had an idea to use the wifi shield part of the 1sheeld to connect to Blynk and use Blynk app to control the robot instead of the 1sheeld app. Has anyone tried this before? I am stumped on how to accomplish this. If anyone has either thought of this before or if anyone would be willing to help, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

You can definitely do that with Blynk and WiFi shield. We also support BLE support for some hardware models.

Just out of curiosity, what are the limitations of 1Sheeld?

Here is a link to the documentation for the internet part of the 1sheeld. http://1sheeld.com/shields/internet-shield/

This is for sure possible. You can easily google a bunch of tutorials, instructables and just videos with Blynk controlling stuff over Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi could be slower than direct BT connect, but usually this is not a case, however you can always install local server and improve it.

I control lego trains realtime over wifi and/or NRF24 with Blynk. I do use a local server because my internet is crap most of the time, but it works very well with nearly instant response times!

@Lichtsignaal by the way server could be tuned for better response also. However this complicates things and not for everyone :).

The way it is out of the box is, at least with one controlled object, more than fine. I’m not sure how it would work with a robot because I don’t have enough motor shields to start building a robot yet.

I can imagine it will be worse when addressing more then 25 trains, but unfortunately, I don’t have that much, lol. I might try and build upon it because an uncle of mine does have an awesome amount of trains and a large track. So I might come back on this in the future
