The old version of Blynk will be retired at some point, you should start planning your migration to the new version

Yes there was a goodwill gesture (in june or was it july?) for the early birds who activated a Blynk IOT plan.

UPDATE JUNE 2022

Blynk have now announced that the Legacy servers will be turned-off on 31st December 2022.

This means that Legacy projects that are hosted on the Blynk cloud servers will permanently stop working at the end of the year.

More info here…

What does this mean for Local Server users?
The decision to remove the Legacy apps from the App Store and Play Store at the end of This month will also make life difficult for Legacy local server users.
It won’t be as much of an issue for Android users, but iOS users will have no way to install the legacy app on a new device that isn’t jailbroken. Although the existing app will continue to work on the existing device, when you migrate to a new iOS device then the app still needs to be available in the App Store for it to become available on the new device.

So, if you are a local server user then sideloading the legacy app .apk on to an Android device will be the only viable way of keeping the app running, and it seems unlikely that there will be any future vulnerability/compatibility fixes for local server.

Maybe a good time to migrate to Blynk IoT if at all possible?

Pete.
