Terminal Widget disable output pane

I want to send a user editable text line to a target, the terminal widget is the obvious choice and works well

but …

once I’m done debugging and get it all working I really don’t want to see the output pane it looks messy I just want that input line for the user to operate the device

can we please have the option to disable the output (similar to the option we have to disable the input line)
