I was just wondering, what wifi shield or mdule do you need of the project of the Blynk sketch ‘Arduino_WiFi’? Whats the simpelest/best module or shield for this project?
Thanks alot
I think any supported shield will do (CC-something?). I use ESP’s because they are dead cheap and once you get the hang of it, they perform really nice and they are positively tiny so you can build them into mostly anything.
I just read that the new wifi shield is sold here for 70(!!!) euro. That is insane if you ask me. ESP’s cost about four bucks for two. With the prizes I come across I’d go for ESP’s any day, despite the fact that they are a little harder to configure.
Out of curiosity, @Lichtsignaal, can you describe how you’re connecting your ESP’s to your Arduino’s/powering them?
I use separate 5v power supply’s, cheap stuff from China (of which I have enough at work). I power the ESP via a 3.3v regulator if needed and add a Cap across the lines. The Arduino is powered via the 5v supply. It’s about 1 or 1.5amp, which is enough to keep everything running smoothly.
Awesome. I’ve been pushing my limits with these plugged in directly to my mega’s… kinda spendy, but they seem work quite well.
Ah, enorm bedankt!!!
Yeap, it came with some kind of bastardized AT firmware… I just plugged it in via serial cable and put on AT firmware 1.0.0.
