So once this is done do you still do the OTA update via tyhe IDE or blynk dashboard ?

It depends which option you choose.

ArduinoOTA has nothing whatsoever to do with Blynk. It’s totall independent technology and works in exactly the same way with Blynk Legacy and Blynk Io.T the only changes you’ll encounter are die to an updated ESP8266 core and updated version of the IDE.

Blynk.Air is new technology introduced in Blynk IoT and in many ways it is far superior to ArduinoOTA because updates can be deployed from anywhere in the world, not just from within your own network.
