Hello, I`m using the ESP-01 and I have the same error. I don’t have the USB-serial bridge, but I used the Arduino Nano, that is inclused, I think. I tried everthing and all proposes to solve, but nothing. Can you help me?
Personally, because the ESP-01 is such a tricky little thing to work with (because of the pinouts), I think it’s worth investing in something like this:
It’s also worth investing in an FTDI adapter. The few dollars that you spend on these will save you so much time in future.
I’ve moved this to it’s own topic, as I think your real issue is trying to use a Nano as an FTDI adaptor.

Do you mean a raw ESP-12E chip, or a NodeMCU dev board that includes a USB interface?

The NodeMCU dev board with USB interface.
They have the USB to serial adapter onboard, so no FTDI needed.
