I have just viewed my plan in the android app. it says it will be cancelled in July 2025 and all limits will be reset to the new limits - what are the new limits and what plan? The only other plan is the pro plan at $99/m. Last time I looked it was about $50/m. Inflation? I’ve used Blynk since 2015. So I’m familiar with the random volatility of Blynk plans and pricing. This latest change seems a bit harsh?
Every time I wanted to upgrade they made changes to the plans so it made me trust them less. Now I moved my projects over to Home Assistant and it was surprisingly easy. I just struggled to understand how it works in the beginning but it is now my server, that I have control over. I could upgrade my projects so I now use 2x esp32 boards and 3x wemos d1 boards. Finally I can use them all.
Hello @koaiwi
I checked your acc. You have WEB Maker ANNUALLY subscription. July 19, 2025 is the last day of the plan.
Please don’t worry, we continue to support existing users with Maker plan.
The main thing is to pay on time for plan renewal.
Thanks for checking and the reassurance.
Would it be an idea to change the message on the app? It’s feels very abrupt and final and somewhat unnerving when I have put 10 years of development into my home private IoT projects. Underpinning with many other pioneer users the very early days of Blynk.
A couple of questions:
- Is there an automated reminder that our annual subscription is about to expire?
- Is there any grace period if perchance and unintentionally the annual payment does not work correctly? I would be very concerned if this happened to me and I was faced with the, for me, quite inappropriate plans as my only options to regain access to the Blynk plateform.
As far as I remember, this is just an informational message. A message reminds you that the plan has ended. And that payment is required to renew the plan.
A week before the end of the plan, you should receive a notification letter in the mail.
As far as I remember, we added certain grace period logic, 1 day.
But I wouldn’t risk it. That’s why I always write to everyone that payments should be made on time to guarantee subscription renewal.
Is there a message within the grace period to say that the subscription has not been done or is unsuccessful? If not then the subscriber may unintentionally miss the fact it had been missed or there is unsuccessful payment. As I say the consequences for some of us would be catastrophic and harsh.
Could you look at the “Informational message”. It reads in English as a very final “The subscription will be cancelled”. No ifs or buts. You could modify it to read that unless you renew the subscription by xx/xx/xxxx then it will be cancelled. As I say it’s a bit unnerving to read the English message. There is no subtilty.
I am in the same position.
Is there a way to pay a week or two in advance so there is time to correct any possible cc issue?
I want to keep on Blynking!
