I have a use for selecting one of 10 pre-set configurations. It’s tough to get the right selection with a slider, so how about a slider with arrows at the end to increment or decrement one count at a time? I considered using buttons on either side of the slider, but the size is not quite right and the implementation a little difficult.
Going another direction, an Up/Down pushbutton “panel counter” like this, or even an older 50’s style panel counter would be really cool!
