Is there a way to indicate the device is down on the mobile dashboard automatically like in the older blynk app? Just getting a notification of going offline doesn’t work well for me as my devices are on a mobile network and go offline frequently. With the dashboard open at this time I am not sure the values are being updated without something showing on the dashboard that the device is online.
Every tile has the offline status. So you can see if device offline right away.
You can use Invalidate feature for that case - https://docs.blynk.io/en/blynk.console/templates/datastreams/datastreams-common-settings/invalidate-value
To view the tile I have to back out of the dashboard screen making it inconvenient. The invalidate feature I believe will work in my case. I suspect a different problem is making it appear communication to the device is down. I suspect when I move my tablet between mesh wifi networks the app is locking up making it appear the device isn’t responding when it is actually the app. I will troubleshoot further to determine if that is it.
We’ll add some indication in the dashboard as well in the future. Stay tuned.
Hi Sir, Why the web dashboard size is small ? Is it possible to enlarge it ?
I did as you suggested using invalidate. I set it for 10 seconds and then would display --. I found after turning hardware off that the dashboard never showed --. Tested further and found on the tile screen the offline would take at least 1 minute 20 seconds to display offline after I turned the hardware off. I did this several times. I then found when I waited for the tile to show offline when I went to the dashboard it still didn’t display --. The only way I got it to display – was to close Blynk and reopen. I had the same thing happen on both a Samsung phone and Samsung tablet.
Yes. “Realtime invalidate” is not yet enabled. It should work only when you open the app.
