🚀 Meet New Feature: Device Connection Lifecycle!

Different use cases and connectivity methods may require different ways to tell you what’s happening with the device’s connection at the moment. Is it online or in sleep mode? Will it report data on time or has it gone offline and needs attention?

That’s why Blynk goes beyond the standard online / offline events! You can now create custom connection statuses and scenarios for your device! Here’s what you can configure:

  • Create additional custom status events and rename the standard online / offline
  • Wait time between the status switch
  • Dashboard accessibility based on the device connection status
  • Notifications for connection status change
  • Colors and icons for each status to differentiate them at a glance

Check out this guide for more details and try it our for your device!

And, don’t forget to share your thoughts in this thread about what you loved or didn’t love about this new feature - we need your feedback and will be happy to chat!

Cheers!

I need to update the status of my device based on my application info… can I update device status using Blynk.Library or HTTP APIs through the hardware?

This is in scope, planned for later.

Facing difficulties in receiving offline notification, even all settings are done properly.

It would help if you explained more, probably in a new topic that contained a link to this one, and which explains in detail the type of subscription you have, what you’ve configured, who is supposed to be receiving the notifications, and what results you’re seeing.
