I was tired of waiting for the end of Arduino IDE 1.8.9 compilation, so I tested this:

Microsoft antivirus enabled, compile time: 1’48 “.
Microsoft antivirus disabled, compile time: 0’98”.
So I added 2 exclusions in the antivirus properties: java.exe and javaw.exe .
try this and tell me what you think. :wink:

but why IDE is only 32 bits ?
as you can see, the compile takes only 31.7% of the CPU process.

so I don’t need a quantum computer :smile:
