Hello,
I have created a project which uses timers, but I thought I would try an automation.
I created one successfully and it worked ok but very cumbersome compared to the time input widget. So I disabled the automation in the template under data stream but it still activates.
I can’t find a way to delete it. On the mobile device it still says it is using an automation and when I look at it, it says “awaiting response from device, make sure it is on line when saving automation” and there is a little box saying “online only”.
The device is online, and the automation continues to run although I can’t edit it or delete it.
I can’t find any description of this in the automation documentation.
Do you mean that you’ve turned off the “Expose to Automation” option in the datastream?
What do you see under the Automations “tab” (second icon down on the left) in the web console?
Pete.
Good morning Pete, (I hope Blynk pays you for all the help you give people )
Yes I have turned off expose to automations in the template for the particular virtual pin I was using.
The second icon on my web dashboard is the template icon, I can’t see anything on automations? I’m using a Mac Pro so I don’t know if the layout is different.
All I have is 1) the search spyglass, 2) templates, 3) organisation pro only and 4) Blynk.Air
I do actually get a free Pro subscription, so yes, they do reward forum regulars.
Okay, go back into your datastream and turn on the Expose to Automation option, and the automations icon in the side-bar should re-appear. That should allow you to delete the automation.
Pete.
Morning again Pete, well I’m glad you get some benefit for all the excellent help you provide the Blynk community👍
I re enabled the automation on the template and then on the mobile app I could see the offending automation which has now been deleted
Many thanks
John
