Good news — we’ve removed the 1-device-per-template limit for Free plans.
Now you can connect and manage multiple devices of the same type under a single template — with shared settings, consistent dashboards, and simpler scaling.
No action needed. The update is already live for all Free plan users — new and existing.
Templates were built to make scaling easier. Now everyone can experience that.
Give it a try and let us know how it helps your workflow
This is certainly great for non-commercial user / hobbyist like me! One question, does this include OTA? Use of OTA will get counted as part of 30,000 messages? If 10 devices are allowed, I request would increase messages limit. Saying this from my experience in last ~2 months with Blynk. It is a wonderful product and more use by hobbyist will only contribute to Blynk feature and product features
This is some kind of amazing nonsense that is even hard to explain…
The free tariff plan makes no sense with a limit on the number of messages, but at the same time some new improvements are introduced… It’s like a blind person putting on good sneakers, maybe he will run faster?
I already go to the forum just out of curiosity, to see what the next “brilliant” idea will be in Blynk. It’s already becoming funny.
We understand your appreciation of Blynk as a “data streaming” platform where devices send temperature data every second (even when sensor manufacturers don’t recommend doing so). However there are numerous use cases where devices send data “on change” or significantly less frequently.
The lifting of devices per template limit actually gives companies a way to prototype and simulate fleets of devices. Sending data is not a challenge in IoT these days, but managing fleets is. So while it might not work for you, this is extremely beneficial for product builders.
In my projects, data is almost always sent “on change”, not every second. However, it makes no difference whether you send temperature, pressure or equipment status once a second, or on change - all the same, the limitation on the number of messages makes this whole idea absurd, and the time spent trying to make the project is wasted.
I understand that the Free plan is a means of attracting potential clients for the Pro tariff and nothing more. Therefore, I have no illusions about using Blynk in my new projects.
