Controlling a stepper motor with Blynk

Hi everyone!

So i have a bit of a problem with controlling my stepper motor via blynk. I have a Wemos d1 mini as my esp8266 module which is hooked up to my wifi. I currently have it hooked up to websocket from where i can control the stepper motor using a slider. But i would like to be able to control it using Blynk instead.

I have managed to connect it to blynk but do not now how i can control it using a slider or button. The idea is to have it connected to two buttons in the blink app one to spin one way and one to spin the other way.

The project is for automated Blinds.
The motor takes an input from 0 - 100 and 1 is spinning one way and -1 one is spinning the other way and 0 is stop.

I have read around on other topics on this problem and tried a couple but non of them seemed to work.

If anyone have any inputs or help they can provide it would be highly appreciated  Thanks ahead

Here is the code used:

How did you miss all the “Don’t!! put all your code in the void loop()” parts :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Steppers can be tricky to control with communication intensive IoT as they require strict and constant timing… usually at the expense of everything else needing to run in the background… like Blynk

It can sorta be done… but almost best to have a dedicated MCU handle the stepper details and just send the positioning commands from a Blynkified MCU.

Have a look here:

A simple code to control a stepper. This little piece of code is quite old, change it according to your needs.
