I’m sure this has been asked before but my searches did not come up with anything. Basically I would like to have a Raspberry Pi running on a campus network that can be accessed from outside. I can do most basic networking setups but I have a feeling the campus network needs to be setup to allow someone through. I have put a request into the campus IT people but I figured I’d also check with this group.
Thanks
You are correct. The IT guys have to setup a port forward to your Raspberry Pi for possibly:
A) Hardware without SSL (normal Arduino/ESP connecting outside Campus network to Pi server)
B) Hardware with SSL (Arduino attached to Pi or something similar via Internet outside of Campus)
C) The App itself (connecting from outside Campus)
You will have to get approval and Campus IT support, I’m afraid.
ok
thanks for the quick reply. That is what I figured. I’ll have to see if they allow this type of thing. Maybe a suggestion for future Documentation releases is to include that scenario. Just so people know more effort is needed to get a Blynk server running on a RPi when the network is a bit more complicated.
I really enjoy Blynk and am looking forward to using to more.
