Since the move to blynk-cloud.com / version 0.3.4 was introduced the RTC and sync features have become a lot less reliable as a user in Europe.
Even before the change we had issues where the following in setup() didn’t always give the desired result:
Blynk.syncAll();
rtc.begin();
Is there anything we can do to ensure the sync and time are processed correctly? We have tried delays between the commands and multiple entries for rtc.begin() but they are all a bit of a fudge.
@Dmytro as stated by @kariky the getting started page still links to version 0.3.3 of the library (unless it is a caching issue that is showing the old library).
This was the announcement made 19th March regarding the change to the new domain name.
It is quite obvious from posts over the last 24 hours that many people don’t read the posts on the forum on a regular basis. Furthermore many don’t read recent posts before they post with their issues as was obvious from the numerous ‘unable to connect’ threads when the server went down.
You simply can never, ever win with notifying people. You could have put on a pink tutu and told people to their face and some of them would have done nothing with the information. The struggle is real!
I have not get any email specifically about server issue. Has there really been something else than just the common “latest threads in Blynk forum” ?
Anyway i did load the latest release on March 27th (as you see above) but obviously didn’t update my Arduino so yesterday i begin to wonder why my Uno is not in network, checked wires and routers etc…
Just happened to notice this little thread again and remembered…
I really would have appreciated an email like “old server closed, check your Blynk”…
Loving Blynk - I’m using it to drive a Sparkfun Thing Dev ESP8266 board. Which stopped working, now I know why.
I was trying to update to the new 0.3.4 Zip, but each time I use Include Library / Add Zip Library in the Arduino IDE I get “Specified folder/zip file does not contain a valid library” from the IDE?
