Blynk 2.0 Free version widgets

I’ve successfully migrated by simple project to Blynk2.0 but it appears that a numeric input widget is not available in the free version. Have I misunderstood or do I need to say goodbye if I can’t justify paying monthly for just one basic project?

That’s correct.

There was talk of the option to buy a “widget pack” for a one-off fee. I’m not sure if this is still being considered.

This situation affects me as well. I’m currently on the free tier, but feeling the need for text label widgets and a simple switch widget. Both of those are categorized as pro widgets. If Blynk sold a one-time purchase widget upgrade that would really help soften my transition from free to paid subscription. I’d eventually like to upgrade to the $60/year plan, but right now I’m having a tough time justifying that cost as I’m 1 person, 1 device, 1 template and just needing basic text and switch widgets.

All in all, I really appreciate the Blynk product and service. I hope this feedback is helpful.

The Value Display and Button Widgets offer that functionality and are available in the Free plan.

In my case I’d happily trade 4 of my 5 free devices for 1 numeric input widget but doubt that’s going to happen. I can’t justify $60 a year, every year, on a relatively simple but useful project for controlling my greenhouse temperature. It’s back to webserver and HTML coding then.

I think that’s a mistake. Those widgets are for PLUS plan. It’s just a bad naming… We’ll fix that soon.

“Pro” widgets are enabled when you buy PLUS subscription.
PRO subscription is for micro businesses it includes all from PLUS + organization management.

I’m sort of in the same boat… I have a nice program to monitor our well and tanks (thanks to help from Pete), and was experimenting moving to Blynk 2.0. The program calls for a segmented switch, which I don’t see in the “free” version. I can’t see buying a pro version for this limited use program, but would happily by a “widget pack” if it was available at a reasonable price.

You don’t have to buy the pro plan, you can buy the plus plan, it’s 59$/year only

You could go back to the original suggestion of using three buttons, with code to make them work like radio buttons.

Merry Christmas, Pete. I thought of that. Maybe I’ll give it a shot, although I like the way we have it now.
Best.
