Arduino cc librarry problem

Hey everyone :smile: i want to start a make a blynk project. So I started out with this basic setup, i want connect arduino and esp8266 as shield, i’m trying ESP8266_Shield in example, but i got an error compilling message like this :

 Arduino: 1.6.5 (Windows 7), Board: "Arduino Pro or Pro Mini, ATmega328 (3.3V, 8 MHz)"

i have installed library

  • ITEAD WeeESP8266
  • BLYNK

i’m using Pro mini and esp8266 -01
arduino cc 1.6.5

and this is my code

 *
 * This example shows how to use ESP8266 Shield via Hardware Serial
 * (on Mega, Leonardo, Micro...) to connect your project to Blynk.
 *
 * You can also use SoftwareSerial (for UNO, Nano, Mini, ...).
 *
 * For this example you need a modified ITEAD WeeESP8266 library:
 *   https://github.com/vshymanskyy/ITEADLIB_Arduino_WeeESP8266
 *
 * Please adjust the settings in the ESP8266.h:
 *   Set ESP8266_USE_SOFTWARE_SERIAL, if needed
 * Set USER_SEL_VERSION to the AT version of your module
 *
 * Note: Ensure a stable serial connection to ESP8266!
 *       Hardware serial is preferred.
 * Firmware version 1.0.0 (AT v0.22) or later is preferred.
 *
 * Change WiFi ssid, pass, and Blynk auth token to run :)
 * Feel free to apply it to any other example. It's simple!

//#define BLYNK_DEBUG
#define BLYNK_PRINT Serial // Comment this out to disable prints and save space
#include <ESP8266.h>
#include <BlynkSimpleShieldEsp8266.h>

// Set ESP8266 Serial object
//#define EspSerial Serial1
// This can be a SoftwareSerial object (remember to also edit ESP8266.h):
#include <SoftwareSerial.h>
SoftwareSerial EspSerial(2, 3); // RX, TX

ESP8266 wifi(EspSerial);

// You should get Auth Token in the Blynk App.
// Go to the Project Settings (nut icon).
char auth[] = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";

void setup()
{
  Serial.begin(9600); // Set console baud rate
  delay(10);
  EspSerial.begin(9600);  // Set ESP8266 baud rate
  delay(10);

  Blynk.begin(auth, wifi, "test", "andrianS");
}

void loop()
{
  Blynk.run();
}

@inu24ti
I think you need to adjust ITEAD WeeESP8266 library. Change it to software serial in ESP8266.h There is a comment in the library header what to do.

There is also a note about it in Blynk example.
Hope it helps.

hey claude, thanks for reply.
im already have modified ESP8266.h on ITEAD WeeESP8266 library , Set ESP8266_USE_SOFTWARE_SERIAL but i dont modified USER_SEL_VERSION , ididnt change it because my version esp is

AT+GMR

AT version:0.21.0.0
SDK version:0.9.

not AT 18 or 22 ,

ESP8266 and arduino pro mini is connected to myWiFi using software serial pin 2,3
any suggest? thanks

Hi.

Please read comments in the example sketch carefully. it states:

* For this example you need a modified ITEAD WeeESP8266 library:
*   https://github.com/vshymanskyy/ITEADLIB_Arduino_WeeESP8266

thanks for reply
ihave download and install ITEAD WeeESP8266 library, then modified it as the example said. i’m still getting that compiling error.
but i will try reinstall everything.

and now, everything is working. thanks

Hi! What did you do to eliminate the error? I did the same procedure you described but the error continues!

i have the same problem , i already do the required changes and errors still there.
can you explain it to us how to make that thing works
