I am trying to add a user to an organisation so that I can transfer a device to their control, but it is saying that ‘This email address already exists’
What can be done about this?

Hello. This message says that there is already such an account. This account has a separate account or is added to some organization
The only option for you is to ask the user to remove his account and invite into your org instead.
Unless you’re on WL/Private server where you as Super Admin can do a transfer of such user.
Currently we don’t support multiple organizations per users.
