Account locked out, can't reset password

Dear Blynk:

My Free Blynk account has been active for a couple of years. I haven’t logging or used it since Jan/Feb 2024. Yesterday I got a message that says my Blynk Console will be deleted in 7 days due to 6 month of inactivity.

When I try to login but I get a username/password not valid response on Blynk Console and Community. I tried password reset for Blynk Console three time but no email was received (Junk folder was checked). I know my password is correct because I tried a password reset on Community and it rejected the password saying it is the same as my existing password, but won’t let me login with that password. I had to create a new Community account to post this.

Is there anyone who can fix this for me before I lose all my projects in Blynk?

There is absolutely no link between the credentials you use to log-in to this community forum and your Blynk account.
If you’re unable to log in to either then I’d suggest that you may be using the wrong email address, or you’re allowing the email address to be auto-filled by a password manager and it may have some invalid hidden characters in the stored address.

Is your app logged-in to your Blynk account, or does the app auto-fill the email address with a different address?

Pete.

Pete:

The app on my android is locked out as well. Can’t login. Message is “Something went wrong, Please try again later. Either email or password is incorrect. Please double-check and try again” with a Reconnect or Logout button displayed.

I use the same email for Console and Community (the “Your account will be suspended” was sent to the email I’m trying to reset the password for. I’m not auto filling the password. I have two email addresses and I tried a Console password reset for both, no password reset message received. I did get a password reset message when I tried to reset my Community password.

Is there a secure way I can send you my email address so you can check if my account has been disabled?

Thanks,

I’m just a moderator on the forum, nothing to do with Blynk.

Pete.

Pete:

In case it wasn’t clear before. I know my password for Community is correct, when I try to change it via password reset it tells me

Blynk Community

Choose a password
•••••••••••

Show
Password is the same as your current password.

But when I try and login with that password, the response is invalid username or password. So it isn’t letting me in with the correct password.

Pete,

Thought you worked at Blynk, my mistake.

Is there any way to contact them that you know of? I don’t have access to their support and there is no other contact method I can find on the site.

I tried the sales contact page but that won’t accept a gmail address…

Thanks for your help on this

Blynk staff should see your post and respond directly to you.

Pete.

Pete,

Thanks for your help on this.

Have a great day.

Two days left until my account is dropped. Password reset is broken and no way to contact anyone at Blynk.

Anyone from Blynk monitor these threads?

I’d really like to keep using the Blynk platform but I can’t trust it if this is how free tier users are treated.

I’ll bump this thread again tomorrow as a last ditch effort to save my project.

I can sense your frustration, but this is a free account, that you haven’t accessed in six months. Blynk is a business, it cost money, a lot of money to run. Their limited resources are focused on paying customers. Two days waiting for a response on a free account is not un-reasonable in my view.

But keep checking, the Blynk team are pretty responsive and do monitor the community posts.

I don’t need a lesson on the economics of running a business. I certainly don’t expect Blynk to offer 24/7 support to free accounts either.

What I do expect is if I get a warning that my account will be deleted is that they honour that and give me a chance to login and reactivate it. Instead my account was deleted/locked out before the deadline with no chance of recovery and my project is gone forever. This was my first Blynk project and required close to 20 hours of learning the Blynk platform and code development to get it working.

I did get a response from Blynk on the 27th two days before the deadline, but based on the lack of follow-up they are unable to restore my account.

That learning is not lost though, and your code will still work if you update the Auth token and template ID.
You’d just need to create a new account and set-up tge datastreams and dashboards.
Not ideal I know, but if you use your project on a regular basis then it won’t expire anyway.
