24VAC down to 5V DC - Best way

Hi Guys,

I am keen to know what might be the best method to reduce 24VAC down to 5VDC?
I would like to power this https://www.dultmeier.com/pdfs/de476ps-24-diaphragm-valve-manual.pdf

and the nodemcu off the one 24V Power Supply, any ideas?

First you need to rectify the AC to DC then use a Buck Converter to bring it down to 5v… efficient and little to no heat as a byproduct. Probably want to make sure you have filtering to keep the ESP power clean.
