European Cloud Server Info

Hi,

I’m using Blynk within a university network, and can’t access the Blynk server: the script just gets stuck repeating “[milliseconds] connecting to blynk-cloud.com:8442” until I turn it off, up to hundreds of thousands of milliseconds. The internet itself isn’t an issue, I’m using a hotspot to bypass the uni enterprise set-up (and that connection works).

From the FAQ it’s probably the network firewall, but to get an exception from network support I need as much information as possible. Port is 8442, but is there a specific IP? How I could find it? Currently not skilled enough to find it alone, I would love some pointers!

Just ping blynk-cloud.com for the IP address in your location.

Yeap, seems like port 8442 is blocked.

Thank you! The request keeps timing out, but I got the IP

@Dmitriy Is there an alternate port you would recommend?

No, it’s just the port their server runs on. You could install a local server and use that, but than you can’t access your project from outside the network.

Or bring a cake over to the IT guys and ask very nicely if they open port 8442 to blynk-cloud.com
