This is a commonly discussed issue with many solutions to read about… usually no need to ask as the answers are already written down. But if you do need to ask, it is preferred to open your own topic, not tag onto other’s old ones.

You didn’t mention the hardware used, but assuming an Arduino and ESP-01…It is usually wiring or power related.

  • Make sure your devices are wired properly TX on one to RX on the other and vice versa.

  • Make sure your code is setup correctly with any SoftwareSerial and BAUD rates.

  • The ESP must use its own 3.3v power supply NOT the 3.3v pin on an Arduino.
