Please try also to remove your notification widget and add it again (or test with a new project) without any changes in it, will it work in a same way?
Sorry for the delay in responding – After testing with the LG watch, I wore it for a day. Today I put the Asus on (it’s the one I prefer) – it is now getting the text of notifications with only the “Storage” permission set on the app. It is not vibrating, but it is showing the notification.
I just tried removing the notification widget and adding it back in – no change. Receiving the notification text, but not vibrating. Will do more testing with various combinations of permissions…
OK – Here’s what I’ve just done. (note: All of this is while wearing the Asus watch that was not showing notifications previously). I went into the permission on the phone, turned them all on. Tested the notification, and it came through on the phone (with the “bongo” sound), and on the watch with vibration. I turned off the “Camera” permission, same results. Turned off the “Location” permission, same result. Turned off the “Storage” permission, and the notification appeared in the banner of the phone, no audio alert, and nothing on the watch. Turned the “Storage” permission back on, and phone and watch notifications behave as expected (audio+banner+lock-screen on the phone, vibration+text on the watch).
I’m not sure what “fixed” it, but thanks all for the patience and willingness to help! I sincerely appreciate it.
That’s strange, I’ll try to investigate it, but honestly I don’t see what we could fix in that issue for now.
Maybe your default sound for notifications is located not in the internal part of the device, and that’s why it’s playback requires this permission? Could you mute the default sound of notifications and check will it get to the watch?
