Unable to login app

I’ve been using blynk app for a few months with an esp8266 project. Suddenly a few days ago I got logged off from my app for no apparent reason. I was traveling out of the country at the time, but the app was working fine for the first few days of travel. I tried to re-login but had to do password reset on blynk website because I had forgot it. The app still doesn’t accept my credentials. The website does. I’m back in the US now and the app problem still exists. Please tell me how to resolve this.

The website is totally separate to the real Blynk, which is on a different domain.

As far as I know the Blynk website is just a single server.

Real Blynk is servers all over the world as per “Geo-DNS” in the docs. If you use the default blynk-cloud.com in your sketch and app you will be offered the nearest server. However this means when you move around you will hit the wrong server as they are not linked. You need to set the IP address in the sketch and app by pinging blynk-cloud.com from your home location.

Then you will have access worldwide.

Are you back in the exact same location in the USA with the same connection method (ADSL, GSM etc) or a different location?

If it’s the same your system should work as it did before you went travelling.

Thanks for explaining the geoDNS server problem I was unaware of. However now I am back home in USA same exact location that I created the app project, same exact location as the esp8266 device, same connection method. I haven’t changed anything in the hardware sketch. Still I am unable to login to the app. Please help with that.

Also, in the future, does it mean that I’ll have to edit the sketch each time I travel? How to know the IP address for the location before traveling there?
