Try reading the documentation then, and deciding which would be your best approach.
It seems unlikely to me that you’d need to switch between 12 and 18 hours very often, or that you’d make a sudden transition from one to the other, to the timer widget would probably be the most sensible approach.
This would allow the on/off times to be adjusted easily from the app, as appropriate.
You’ve seemed to obsess about what would happen in the case of a power loss in some of your earlier posts. Why is this so critical to the process?
Are power outages something that occur often?
When they do, are you on hand to ensure that everything is running correctly?
All this is stuff that is missing from your overview of the project and the required functionality.
Pete.
I will look at these solutions, but as you told me predement to try to put as much as possible in code rather than through the application, I tried.
That’s right but I need to change regularly and quickly for testing.
The project already includes different thermostats for growth cycles with the lamp on and for the lamp off, for flowering with the lamp on and for the lamp off, testers for ambient and soil hygrometry, brightness, water level probes for the tank. Relays for air extraction and intraction, relays for temperature management, others for hygrometry management.
Since most of these actuators and sensors have different settings for two different cycles containing themselves two different states, it’s quite complicated. So for the test phases I need to be able to modify the cycles at will.
It could be, it all depends on the loss time. They are fragile plants and I would like to “stress” them as little as possible.
Without forgetting that there may be “hardware” constraints. The lamps that I used in the past bore very badly to be turned off and on again. That why i would use RTC
Today yes, but in the near future I will have less and less physical capacity and I would like to anticipate in order to have the least physical action to do. I don’t know what my near future is made of
I understand, but it’s difficult for me to have to justify my projects… Both on the internet and in reality
Ok, now I’m going to look at the other solutions you offered me, starting with the timer widget
Thanks Pete
So this is a cannabis farm then?
Pete.
Okay, well as cannabis cultivation, possession distribution and sale is illegal in my country, I won’t be making any further comments on any of your posts, to ensure that there is no suggestion that I am involving myself in any illegal activity.
Pete.
