I am using the latest version of Blynk on a Samsung Galaxy S5, model number SM-G900V running Android 5.0.
Since the last Blynk update, every time I leave Blynk and come back in, all the projects I have created are gone. I have tried logging out of Blynk and back in, but that doesn’t change anything.
It’s a really strange issue, what do you think if i’ll send you another build which will log the data of projects save/remove, so we’ll have possibility to understand what goes wrong on your device, as on our devices we haven’t faced such problems.
Try the build by the link below. it will save a log to the root of sdcard/storage blynk_CURDATE.log - just reproduce this issue and send that log file to me.
I installed the new APK, and it has the same behavior as the latest distribution, but it does not create the log file on the SD card or anywhere else.
I’m thinking the problem might be that Blynk cannot save files on my device. Where would the project files be stored on my device? Maybe I can look to see if they are there.
My project also vanished on Android. The situation was like this:
I started blink app, and Instead of my projects I could see 3 dots in the middle of the screen flying, showing that something is “refreshing”(?). I let it refresh for like 30 seconds without interruptions, then I got impatient and start clicking on random menu things to try to force the refreshing. Instead I ended up with empty project list.
Interesting thing is that when I created the new project it had the same token that my previous one.
I too was getting the 3 dots flying around the middle of the screen yesterday. It was my first day using Blynk so I wasn’t too sure what I was doing. I tried maybe 10 times to create a project and each time it disappeared. I was starting to think it was a feature of the service and that I perhaps needed to pay for the project to be saved. Finally the project was stored and it seems to be working fine. we are using a Samsung S3 running Android 4.4.4.
The spinning dots of dread have returned today. I set up to two projects yesterday, one connected to a Raspberry Pi and one connected to an Arduino. They were running fine yesterday but they have ‘disappeared’ today. Any idea what the problem is?
Just to add some further details. After several hours I still haven’t been able to save any new projects.
Correction to that, when the spinning dots appear if I press the new project icon and then exit create new project my 2 existing projects do appear. I’m guessing this is a bug rather than a feature as it doesn’t always work this way i.e. when you open the app the projects should open without pretending to create a new project.
I’ve made another build (by link below) which should save logs internally and on long click on screen title text will propose to share it. Just select your email client and it should already pre-fill my email, if not - use alexkipar@gmail.com. Just send me that log, we want to fix this issue and release in the new build before new year.
I’m sorry for my disappearance, it was due to the health issues that couldn’t be avoided.
It seems that we have found possible source of the problem. Could you check the new build? It would show error toast on problems with saving dashboard.
