Fail to initialize postgres DB

I tried to setup postgres DB on my local Blynk server for raw data storage with this tutorial

However, when I restart Blynk server I found this error in postgres.log

15:47:30.274 - DB url : jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/blynk?tcpKeepAlive=true&socketTimeout=150
15:47:30.274 - DB user : test
15:47:30.274 - Connecting to DB…
15:47:31.383 - Not able connect to DB. Skipping. Reason : Failed to initialize pool: FATAL: Ident authentication failed for user “test”
15:47:31.384 - Reporting DB url : jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/blynk_reporting?tcpKeepAlive=true&socketTimeout=150
15:47:31.384 - Reporting DB user : test
15:47:31.384 - Connecting to reporting DB…
15:47:32.395 - Not able connect to reporting DB. Skipping. Reason : Failed to initialize pool: FATAL: Ident authentication failed for user “test”

It seems there is a problem when authenticating “test” user name ?

Does anyone know how to solve this issue.

Thanks,

You need to change the authentication method used for PostgreSQL.

Edit pg_hba.conf (usually in /var/lib/pgsql/data) and change ‘ident’ to ‘password’ in the configuration lines.

(This is assuming you’re not using PostgreSQL for anything other than Blynk, else it could break your setup)
